1885 Mr F T Ruston become a partner of an Ironmongery business in St Ives, Cambridgeshire 1895 Mr F T Ruston become sole proprietor of the business
1954 Rustons Engineering (RECO) is formed as an offshoot of the F T Ruston business. The first machinery to be imported was the 'Hume Pea Harvester'. Shortly after this, an agreement with Hume was reached for RECO to manufacture Pea Cutters in the UK.
1975 After several successful years manufacturing grain augers and forage towers as its main product, RECO made the decision to diversify its range and began importing from selected suppliers around the world and selling within the UK through a dealership network.
1989 New site opens on Brampton Road
1995 RECO purchase local company 'Stocks-Ag', which manufactures Agricultural Tyres and Specialist Wheels.
2000 RECO diversify into the Groundcare and Amenities market, importing a range of Compact Tractors from the Korean manufacturer Kioti.
2007 RECO begin distributing Kansas-manufactured Grasshopper Zero-Turn Mowers within the UK.
June 2009 Richard Ruston retires as Managing Director after 27 years. John Walls joins RECO.
Sept 2009 Kioti launch the Mechron – the first Utility Vehicle in their range.
Jan 2010 RECO purchase the sole distribution rights to sell Strautmann products within the UK.
Jun 2010 RECO acquire sole distribution rights of Schulte products within the UK.
Aug 2010 RECO begin promotion of Jeulin products in the UK.
Sept 2010 RECO launch a new brand identity
