Fella Disc mowers The Fella cutter bed features modular disk drive units, which eliminates expensive repairs when a whole disk bed needs to be rebuilt. In the unlikely event of failure, an individual disc drive unit can be removed and repaired or replaced immediately with a spare unit to minimise downtime. A stronger, more precise way of making a disc mower. On other conventional discbeds, one bearing failure can destroy the bed –expensive and time consuming to repair. This can’t happen with the Fella modular system.

Front Mounted Mowers Front mounted are effectively trailed thanks to the frame from which the mower is suspended, and due to the spring loaded pivot system gives even cutting on undulating fields.

Rear mounted machines have a special cam folding arrangement to bring the mower closer to the tractor for better stability in transport and a unique spring relief system to allow the mower to 'float' during work for greater stability. A hydraulic lift comes as standard across the range. The trailed Fella Trans mower features the same cutter bed design as the mounted machines, with the draw bar centrally mounted. This enables the cutting unit to be offset to the left or right so that continuous mowing can be carried out in both directions, speeding up productive mowing time.

FELLA centre pivot pendulum mowers Using the same modular disc drive units common to all types of Fella disc mowers (with a few exceptions at the bottom of the range), these mowers support the mowing unit centrally at the front. When combined with the TurboLift system which incorporates hydro pneumatic accumulators which give constant adjustment of the load of the mower on the ground, excellent ground following and weight distribution result. The weight of the cutting unit on the ground can be adjusted via this accumulator system to suit conditions, whilst at the same time minimizing any crabbing.

A separate ram gives one-touch headland lift to clear swaths etc without activating the transport lift system. For transport, the machine can be folded hydraulically in 3 ways. Vertically to the side – slewed horizontally to the rear – or slewed horizontally to the rear and then folded vertically. A further option is the SM900TL, which is a mowing combination with 2 - 3 metre mowers at the rear, and a 3 metre front mounted mower giving a 9 metre mowing width in one pass using your own tractor.

Grouper attachment can also be fitted to the TL range. Hydraulically raised or lowered into work, speed and direction of flow of crop can be adjusted by means of the hydraulic motor to enable the second swath to be placed exactly where you want it. When grouping is not required, simply lift hydraulically out of work and the drive to the belt is automatically stopped. Similarly, when required, simply lower into the work position and the belt drive starts automatically to your previous settings.

SM311 and SM401 Semi Mounted Mowers – with or without Conditioners A unique range of semi mounted mowers up to 4m working width give the best of all worlds. The outboard support wheel avoids crabbing which can occur with wider mounted mowers, and has the pulling characteristics of a more expensive fully trailed mower. Movement from transport to work and vice versa is simplicity itself. For transport, activate the wheel ram and pull forward, and the mower moveslengthways behind the tractor into the trailed position where it locks in place. Quick, safe, and easy for transport between fields. To move into working position, reverse the procedure and back up – the mower moves round at 90 degrees to the working position and locks into place. The whole procedure can be done in under 2 minutes!
