AGRISEM DISC O MULCH

Throughout the Autumn our demonstration team is putting the Disc O Mulch through its paces.

A high-speed primary cultivation tool like nothing else in terms of strength of build, it brings high-speed minimum tillage within the range of the average farmer without the need to re-equip with high horsepower tractors.

A 3 metre model is the most popular, typically needing around 150hp to travel at say 15 kms /hour, they feature a disc which is angled in 3 planes to give optimum mixing of straw and weeds in the top few inches for quick decomposition and rapid crop establishment.

The heart of the Disc O Mulch is the patented 3D disc support system, where the 2 banks of discs, with intermediate clod shattering boards, are individually supported by a heavy-duty coil tine and fully sealed hub with massive bearings.

This enables the centre axis of the hub to be directly in line with the tine mounting eliminating sideways thrust. Other systems, where the hub and disc are offset from the central axis, result in large lateral stress which results in breakage of support arms and premature wear of disc hubs. This method of support also allows the disc to be angled in 2 planes for the optimum angle of attack for penetration and complete mix of trash with soil. Linked with the individual mounting of each disc, the third dimension gives protection against stones and creates disc vibration for better breakdown of soil and clods.

Pictured below is the 6-metre version at work.

LATEST KIOTI TRACTORS LAUNCHED

Latest Kioti tractors Launched We recently launched the latest additions to the Kioti tractor range at Saltex, the 25 and 30 hp CK models.

Available in mechanical or hydrostatic versions, they join the 21hp best seller which was launched a year ago. We now offer tractors from 21hp to 50hp in 5hp increments, with a range of accessories such as cabs, front hitches, back hoes available.

We also offer a variety of matched implements for mowing, hedge and verge cutting, fertiliser spreading, turf care, cultivating and stone burying.

SULKY BULK FERTILISER SPREADER

The DPA XLT high capacity range of trailed spreaders has recently been launched, giving capacities of 4000 or 5600 litres.

The machines utilise the patented Sulky DPX stepless spread system, which spreads fertiliser from 12 to 36 metres, simply be varying the drop point onto the disc to change the spread width concerned. As with all Sulky DPX systems, there are no discs to change or vane angles to alter for different spread widths.

A positive drive from the land wheels gives an application rate proportional to the forward speed, and fertiliser is delivered to the spreading discs by a 650mm wide conveyor belt giving a consistent feed rate irrespective of the amount remaining in the hopper.

Application rates from 60kg to 1,000kg per hectare can be achieved on 24 metre tramlines.

The machines come with a large under frame clearance of over 1 metre for late top dressing, and have a sprung drawbar to reduce compaction and give greater operational stability.

The distribution system is fitted with the Sulky Tribord system, which enables accurate border spreading to be carried out from the tractor seat at the push of a button.

The machines come equipped as standard with hydraulic brakes, sieves, full road lighting, hydraulically controlled double shutters, and a wheelbase adjustable from 1.55m to 2 metres. As with all Sulky machines, the spreading mechanism gearboxes have a 3-year warranty.

ROTADAIRON DE THATCHERS

A new addition to the Rotadairon turf care equipment is the addition of a specialised turf de-thatcher and slitter suitable for 25hp to 40hp tractors.

The ED130 is specifically designed for removing thatch from golf greens, sports fields and other grass areas where a high degree of accuracy is required so that the turf surface is not disturbed.

The machine incorporates 159 specially shaped and sharpened blades on a rotor with a working width of 1.3 metres, giving a spacing between the blades of 23mm. The depth of the rotor is controlled by adjustable front and rear stainless steel rollers, the rear roller having a depth gauge for precise positioning. This design ensures that thatch is removed with minimal disturbance to the turf itself, and a rear adjustable hood is included to control the throw of waste material.

The machine can also be used as a slitter/aerator by disconnecting the pto.

The rotor itself consists of a main drive shaft with 53 cast aluminium flanges into which the blades fit. The patented design enables blades to be changed very quickly by slackening a single nut at one end of the rotor, which allows the flanges to move apart and a new blade to be inserted.

NEW JEANTIL STRAW BLOWERS

We now offer a bigger model with a 4m³ capacity to our range of multi-purpose machines that can shred and feed baled silage or shred and blow bedding straw.

Like the existing models, the chamber of the P4200 is a fully welded monocoque structure, and there are separate shredding and blowing rotors. A chain-and-slat floor has stepless adjustable speed control and forward and reverse modes.

The shredding rotor has 96 special heavy-duty knives that enable the machine to feed a standard silage bale in less than three minutes. Two rotor speeds are available – one for blowing bedding straw and the other for feeding silage. Two rows of stripper bars stop material wrapping around the rotor or passing into the distribution area too quickly and causing blockages.

The P4200 can be fitted with a fixed or swivelling chute. Dual electro-hydraulic controls are included as standard.

SGG MID MOUNT FOR CK25

We've recently added a mid-mount rear-discharge model to our range of tractor-mounted finishing mowers to meet the needs of users wanting to keep cuttings between the tractor wheels.

The new Jet model has a 1.5 metre working width and, like the existing machines, has a pressed steel deck which results in far better power usage and surface finish than fabricated decks on equivalent models.

A floating headstock, castor wheels at each corner and front anti-scalp rollers combine to produce good ground-following performance, a light footprint and minimal turf damage.

Side-delivery Jet mowers, front, rear or mid-mounted, continue to be available.

ROTADAIRON SOIL RENOVATORS

We will soon have finished our first year as UK sole importers for Rotadairon soil renovators / stone buriers, and we’re delighted with the impact we’ve made on the market. The machines are renowned as the only machine which will last the course, and we’ve sold machines this year to a number of past users, who have tried a cheaper alternative but come back to Rotadairon.

If you’re looking for a cheap machine, please look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a machine built for the most punishing conditions which will give you many years trouble free service, talk to us now.

The machine will go straight into unworked land, separate stones, clods and trash from the soil with the aid of a separation comb, and bury them leaving a fine, compacted top tilth ready for sowing grass seed etc. In fact the machine can be fitted with an overseeder unit to carry out the whole task in one pass.

The ideal tool for renovating sports fields, golf courses or preparing building land for lawn seeding. Larger models are also available for agricultural uses where a clod free top tilth is required, for example with vegetable growing.

RECO EMERGENCY SERVICE

As always we will be operating our unique emergency parts service, and it's worth knowing that you can get parts for your Reco machine whenever you need them.

Whether you're using Agricultural or Ground care machinery, we have a duty officer operating throughout every weekend and bank holiday to ensure that you can get spares from Reco every day of the year (except Christmas day itself)

Parts sometimes need replacing on even the best machines - it's good to have that peace of mind, knowing that you can be up and running quickly, even if it is late Sunday afternoon.

FOREIGN OWNED UK BRANCHES PULL BACK TO THE CONTINENT

Don't overlook the fact that a number of suppliers have effectively closed their UK owned branch and pulled back to mainland Europe.

Whilst maintaining a UK sales force, supply of machines, parts and service advice come direct from the continent in an effort to save costs.

Reco remain a UK based, independent family owned business with a great range of products, totally committed to supporting our UK customers from Huntingdon. With around 40,000 different parts line items in stock at Huntingdon, we will never compromise on the back up we give our customers.

If you want to be confident that you can continue to get a first class service quickly, shouldn't you be talking to us?

BARGAIN OFFER LIST

Don't forget to look at our bargain offer listing, which is constantly updated. You can make major savings by buying new, shop soiled or ex demo machines. Sometimes all it means is that as the New Year arrives, we sell off new machines which were manufactured in the previous year just ended. We always carry extensive machine stocks for our customers, and we would be very lucky if we just sold out of every different working width at the end of the season.

Demonstration machines rarely do more than a few acres before we sell them off, but we have to carry a wide range of demo machines across the country to service our dealers throughout the UK.
